William Wallace, a peaceful Scottish farmer, is drawn into rebellion after the English kill his secret wife, Murron. Seeking justice, he rallies his fellow Scots to rise against King Edward I’s oppressive rule, beginning a fight for their country’s freedom.

Wallace becomes a legendary leader, achieving victories like the Battle of Stirling Bridge and uniting many clans under the banner of liberty. However, his efforts are constantly threatened by political betrayal and division among Scotland’s nobility.

As the rebellion grows, Wallace is seen as a threat by both England and traitorous Scottish lords. He is captured through betrayal and handed over to King Edward, who orders his brutal execution to quell the resistance.

Even in death, Wallace’s unwavering courage and cry of “Freedom!” ignite hope in Scotland. His sacrifice inspires Robert the Bruce to lead a united Scotland in their continued fight for independence.
