A young thief named Philippe “The Mouse” escapes from prison and encounters Captain Navarre, a former knight. Navarre rescues Philippe and reveals he is cursedβby day, he is a man, but by night, he transforms into a wolf. His lover, Lady Isabeau, suffers the opposite fate, becoming a hawk by day. They can never be together in human form.

Navarre and Philippe journey to the city of Aquila to confront the corrupt Bishop who cast the curse. Along the way, they meet Imperius, a monk who once served the Bishop and now seeks redemption. He reveals that there is a way to break the curse during a solar eclipse, when day and night briefly merge.

As they reach Aquila, Philippe sneaks into the Bishopβs stronghold to help Navarre and Isabeau. Navarre, determined to kill the Bishop, fights fiercely, but Imperius convinces him to wait until the eclipse. In a dramatic confrontation in the cathedral, Isabeau and Navarre both appear in human form at the same time, proving the curse is broken.

The Bishop, in disbelief, tries to kill Isabeau, but Navarre slays him instead. With the curse lifted, Navarre and Isabeau embrace for the first time as humans. Philippe watches joyfully before slipping away, leaving them to their long-awaited happiness.
