In Death Hunt (1981), trapper Albert Johnson rescues a wounded dog from a brutal fight, angering local thugs. When they retaliate, he defends himself, killing one in the process.

Sergeant Edgar Millen is tasked with capturing Johnson, believing him to be a murderer. A massive manhunt ensues in the harsh Canadian wilderness, with Johnson using his survival skills to evade capture.

As the chase intensifies, Johnson outsmarts his pursuers at every turn, gaining reluctant respect from Millen. However, the authorities refuse to back down, escalating the hunt.

In a dramatic final confrontation, Johnson makes a desperate last stand. Though his fate remains ambiguous, his legend as a fearless survivalist lives on.
