Tastes of Horror (2023)

“Modern fears meet ancient curses—where every craving comes with a cost.”

Tastes of Horror (2023) is a South Korean horror anthology that brings six unsettling stories to life, each adapted from a hit webtoon. Directed by Sang-hoon Ahn, Johnny Chae, and Yoon Een-Kyoung, the film delivers a sharp blend of psychological suspense, dark satire, and supernatural terror.

Across six episodes, viewers encounter a cursed dance challenge that spreads like wildfire, a haunted gym locked behind a resident-only door, and a deadly rivalry between mukbang creators spiraling into madness. The anthology also explores the eerie stillness of an abandoned rehab center, a motel hiding malevolent secrets, and a gold thief whose greed triggers a haunting reckoning.

Though each segment varies in tone—from minimalist dread to grotesque horror—the film is unified by its examination of ambition, obsession, and the price of indulgence.

Released in 2023, Tastes of Horror earned praise for its imaginative scenarios and visual variety, though some critics pointed to inconsistencies in tone and pacing. Now available on Tubi and Amazon Prime Video, the anthology stands out as a creative entry in the modern Korean horror canon, offering six different reasons to fear what we consume.
